Magic is a great solution for all three of these occasions.
1. For company banquets and parties: An hour of cocktail magic with a 20-30min. stand up show works very well because it allows the magician to essentially "work the crowd" and warm up the audience for the "show" later. Every time the band takes a break there is usually a speaker, a raffle, an award presentation, etc... Keep this in mind... They will ALWAYS remember the magic presentation.
2.
Customer appreciation events are a fantastic idea in theory but here is what
happens in reality: The invited guest(s) show up, talk to the person that invited
them, grab some free food and sit at a table and watch the band.
A better scenario is: The invited guest(s) show up, talk to the person who invited
them. That person has a job as "host" so he/she introduces them to
the magician so they can greet the next guest. The magician proceeds to show
them a miracle. This usually gathers a small crowd of people who are in a similar
situation. After a few minutes, the magician closes with his finale' and walks
away- leaving these strangers something to talk about. Magic is the perfect
icebreaker for these types of situations.
3.
Trade shows are meant to attract customers to a product... Or in the very least
provide an on-going familiarity with a product or company name/logo. These days
with all the logos flashing at one's brain day and night on TV and on the Internet...
It's a wonder that anyone remembers anything! Even worse, the free stuff that
people get at a trade show goes either in a drawer or in the trash unless it
can be used again.
Solution: The word unforgettable is synonymous
with the word magic. Imagine a give-away that features your logo and fits in
a wallet- getting repeated exposure for years to come as they show their trick
to everyone they know!
In short: Typically, one month after your event they will not remember the name of the band, the names of half the people they met, even the name of the hotel that hosted the event. They will remember only 2 things. The name of YOUR COMPANY and "that guy" who made the quarter float all over the room and then did that really funny thing with "what's-his-face" on stage.
